Summary:
As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering quality care to our patients. This position involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities to ensure the efficient operation of our medical practice.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Welcome patients and escort them from the waiting area to the clinical setting, ensuring a comfortable experience.
2. Record vital signs and assist in the registration process, updating patient information and verifying insurance details.
3. Perform clerical duties related to patient care, including documentation and organization of medical records.
4. Schedule patient appointments for consultations, tests, or referrals as directed.
5. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the examination area, ensuring it is well-stocked and ready for patient visits.
6. Prepare patients for their appointments, ensuring they are informed and ready for their visit.
7. Conduct in-office tests as instructed by healthcare providers and coordinate additional testing services as necessary.
8. Collect and process specimens in accordance with physician directives.
9. Manage inventory and ensure the proper maintenance of medical supplies and equipment.
10. Adhere to compliance standards relevant to the role.
11. Embody and promote the values of Nuvance Health in all interactions.
12. Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance.
13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of a Medical Assistant program, Nursing Assistant training, EMT certification, or three years of relevant experience in a medical setting. Basic understanding of medical terminology and proficiency in obtaining vital signs.

Preferred: One year of experience in a similar role. CPR certification is advantageous. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
