Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Hand Therapist to join our team at Altru Health. As a Hand Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with hand injuries or conditions, utilizing a team approach to identify patient goals and barriers to discharge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Orient patients, family, and other appropriate parties to the purpose and procedures of the therapy evaluation and treatment.
  • Provide patient education, family teaching, and support related to the needs of the patient and family.
  • Obtain and document all required and pertinent patient information, including precautions, orders, and initial plan of care.
  • Select and perform evaluation and treatment methods that correlate to the age of the patient, diagnosis, symptoms, and physician orders.
  • Document an initial plan of care and complete certification.
  • Coordinate treatment schedules with disciplines and participate in the development and accurate documentation of a discharge plan.
  • Document the patient's response to treatment and progress.
  • Identify significant changes in patient condition and take appropriate actions.
Requirements
  • Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) certification.
  • Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) licensure in North Dakota.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, and handling/finger/feel activities. The ideal candidate will be able to lift up to medium pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.

This is an occasional driver position, and the candidate will be required to drive from time to time.
