We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician, Emergency Medicine to join our team at Brevard Physician Associates PLLC.
About the Role:As an Emergency Physician, you will provide high-quality emergency medical care to patients in our four Brevard County Health First Hospitals. You will work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to assess, plan, and direct patient care, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities:- Provide emergency medical services coverage, responding to medical emergencies on inpatient units or elsewhere in the hospital.
- Assess, plan, and direct patient care, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing and imaging as needed.
- Coordinate home care needs and orders with unit nursing staff and case managers.
- Document services provided and clinical course for Emergency Department patients in the electronic health record.
- See patients, enter orders, manage patient care, and document care in the electronic health record each shift.
- Coordinate hospital admissions of patients with NP/PA-C, MD Hospitalist service, and document bridge orders for patients being admitted to the hospital.
- Provide medical screening exams to patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
- Perform medical evaluations, formulate differential diagnoses, and develop treatment plans for urgent and emergent care within the scope of emergency medicine.
- Lead the medical management of patients in our emergency departments, working closely with a team of AHPs, nurses, and technicians.
- Document clinical evaluations and treatment in the electronic health record.
- Work closely with the Medical Director and other clinical team members to ensure adherence to policies and delivery of quality care in an innovative setting.
- Ensure best practices are followed, and patients and family members are comfortable, patiently and professionally answering any questions they have, using patient-centered empathetic communication at all times.
- Have successfully completed and graduated from an accredited MD program and completed all clinical requirements and Residency.
- Licensure as a Medical Doctor in the State of FL.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Emergency Medicine.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certification required, ATLS preferred.
- DEA license required.
- Excellent clinical care and patient satisfaction in the emergency department.
- Emergency Medicine, Board Certified or eligible.
Exposures to toxic/caustic/chemicals/detergents, extreme conditions, hot/cold, dust/fumes, moving mechanical parts, potential electrical shock, x-ray/electromagnetic energy, high-pitched noises, communicable diseases, Blood Borne pathogens, and body fluids, gaseous Risk Exposure, use of a fitted respirator.
Well-lighted, well-ventilated work areas. Work under stress and under the conditions that normally exist in a hospital.
Ability to work both cooperatively and independently, to work efficiently under stress, to utilize sound professional judgement in establishing priorities and intervening in urgent and emergent patient care situations.
Ability to promote a positive public image of the Hospital by communicating in a polite, tactful, and professional manner with patients, families, visitors, and co-workers.
