Job Summary

Denver Health is seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Correctional Care team. As a LPN, you will provide direct patient care in accordance with established protocols, assist RNs and Care Providers with procedures, and assess patient's physical and psychological condition on an ongoing basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement care based on prioritized patient needs, under the direction of the RN.
  • Maintain a broad and comprehensive nursing scope of practice, including preventive care, emergent care/crisis response, triage skills, general acute care skills, and behavioral health skills.
  • Obtain vital signs and differentiate normal from abnormal findings, reporting abnormal values or conditions to the RN or provider.
  • Provide safe delivery of medications and collect clinical data to contribute to the Plan of Care.
  • Document Daily Goals/Plan of Care, adhering to the hospital's principles and practices of Informing Clinical Practice, Interconnecting Stakeholders, Improving Population Health, and Personalizing Care.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of a nursing education program that satisfies the licensing requirements of the Colorado State Board of Nursing for Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Less than 1 year Correctional Care experience preferred
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association
  • LPN-Licensed Practical Nurse - LPC State Licensing Board
