Overview:

UPMC Hamot is seeking dedicated Security and Safety Specialists to join our team. We are looking for individuals to work across various shifts, including daylight, afternoon, and night, with a rotating schedule that encompasses weekends and holidays.

Incentives:

Full-time positions are eligible for a generous sign-on bonus for external candidates, with a commitment to a two-year work term. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by patrolling UPMC facilities and surrounding areas.
  • Monitor security, fire, and environmental alarms, responding promptly to incidents.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to maintain a safe atmosphere for all.
  • Document incidents accurately and report suspicious activities as necessary.
  • Assist in crisis management and de-escalation techniques during high-stress situations.
  • Conduct inspections of incoming and outgoing parcels to prevent theft.
  • Maintain required certifications and licenses, including CPR and Act 235.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent. An associate degree in Criminal Justice or relevant experience in safety, security, or law enforcement is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively are essential. Candidates must be physically fit to handle the demands of the role and must be available for all shifts.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Act 235 with or without Firearms
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • UPMC Physical Fitness Standard
