Job Responsibilities and Qualifications1. The technologist must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to care for patients across all age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
2. Proficiency in general diagnostic radiography, digital equipment usage, and understanding of the PACS system is essential.
3. Responsible for utilizing the RIS and Meditech systems for scheduling, patient tracking, and completing exams accurately.
4. Adhere to infection control protocols and universal precautions in all job functions.
5. Accommodate urgent exam requests as necessary.
6. Maintain vigilance for image quality and address any artifacts as needed.
7. Ability to assess situations, evaluate options, and determine appropriate actions.
8. Gather patient histories and assist radiologists during procedures, ensuring patient comfort.
9. Notify supervisors of any equipment malfunctions requiring attention.
10. Demonstrate the ability to operate radiologic equipment and troubleshoot basic technical issues.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. May handle radiopharmaceuticals and contrast agents as required for diagnostic procedures.
2. May assist in the oversight of controlled substances in compliance with regulations.
3. Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including exam rooms and equipment.
Qualifications Required:- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Registered Radiographer (ARRT) certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment.
