Sterile Processing Department Supervisor

We are seeking a skilled professional to oversee our Sterile Processing Department at the Commonwealth of Virginia. In this supervisory role, you will be tasked with managing the daily functions of the department, ensuring exceptional quality of work and optimal staffing levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direction and management for the establishment and execution of Sterile Processing protocols and guidelines.
  • Oversee SPD staff, including recruitment, performance assessments, and administering corrective measures when necessary.
  • Design and implement initiatives for performance enhancement within the department.
  • Serve as an advocate for the SPM Instrument Tracking System and leverage its reporting features.
  • Guarantee adherence to regulatory requirements and foster a safe working atmosphere.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive supervisory experience in sterile processing is preferred.
  • Certification as CRCST or CSPDT is mandatory.
Physical Demands:

This position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift, push, or pull heavy items, and be exposed to various environmental factors such as fumes and chemicals.
