Job Summary

STERIS is seeking a skilled Machinist I-2nd Shift to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for setting up and operating Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) lathes and/or mills to meet production and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read blueprints and routers to ensure accurate production and quality control.
  • Set up and operate CNC machining equipment, including swiss type CNC lathes and CNC milling centers.
  • Perform limited editing and offsetting of programs to meet specific job requirements.
  • Utilize standard measuring devices, such as calipers and micrometers, to ensure quality and productivity.
  • Adhere to general plant rules and policies governing workplace safety and productivity.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of CNC machining experience or technical degree.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, process routers, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Finite motor skills and ability to perform operations that require precision and attention to detail.
  • Posture primarily standing with limited sitting, and ability to move product weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual acuity adequate to detect subtle visual product non-conformities.
