Vector Control Specialist

The Vector Control Operator I performs duties for Vector Control and Water Management Divisions to protect County citizens from mosquito populations and the diseases they may carry. This position involves semi-skilled work in vector control, water management, and beaver management, including surveillance, larviciding, adulticiding, biological controls, trapping, and ditching to manage mosquito and beaver populations.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform duties to protect County citizens from mosquito populations and diseases
* Conduct surveillance, larviciding, adulticiding, and biological controls to manage mosquito populations
* Manage beaver populations through trapping and ditching
* Work in vector control, water management, and beaver management to protect County citizens
Requirements
* High school diploma or GED equivalent
* Five to eleven months of relevant experience
* CDL required within 1 year of employment
* Category B pesticide applicators license must be obtained within 1 year of employment
Physical Requirements
* Regular and sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work
* Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 75 pounds) and occasionally heavy items (up to 100 pounds)
