**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Nurse to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a full-time days nursing position, this role offers an estimated annual salary of $120,000.
About the Role:The Clinical Research Nurse is responsible for facilitating and coordinating study protocols, providing direct nursing patient care, and ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice and regulatory standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical research, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate study protocols and ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice and regulatory standards.
- Provide direct nursing patient care, including diagnosis, medication administration, and clinical assessment of study subjects.
- Monitor budget and systems issues to implement protocols effectively.
- Attend investigator meetings, pre-study site visits, and study-related visits by Monitors or Sponsor representatives.
- Arrange for external vendor procedures and visits.
- Schedule and lead protocol meetings to review procedures, staffing, and visit flow.
- Coordinate medical needs and coverage for protocol procedures.
- Document study-related communication with the principal investigator, study subjects, Sponsor, and IRB.
- Provide subject instructions for study participation and handle study-specific questions and concerns.
- Ensure protocol procedures are completed according to study requirements.
- Document adverse event data and report to the appropriate parties.
- Ensure quality and completeness of source documents and accurate data entry into CRFs.
- Assist with study-related visits, corrections, and site needs.
- Supervise document retention, security, and destruction.
- Complete necessary training, including study protocol-specific training.
- Train other research staff in data collection and reporting.
- Maintain research files, design forms, report findings, and assist with IRB submissions.
- Travel between hospital locations for research.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse.
- Two years of experience in managing clinical research trials, with in-depth knowledge of protocol requirements and Good Clinical Practice.
- Intermediate computer and internet knowledge.
- Excellent customer service and patient care skills.
- Meticulous organizational skills.
- Excellent demonstrated written and verbal communication abilities.
