Role Overview:
The EHS Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, particularly in the areas of employee safety and environmental stewardship. This position will require on-site presence and collaboration with various teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct investigations into workplace injuries, near-misses, and environmental incidents.
  • Assist in the development and execution of EHS programs, policies, and procedures, including emergency preparedness and safety protocols.
  • Provide support in industrial hygiene initiatives, including sampling and analysis.
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Engage in compliance activities related to OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
  • Oversee hazardous waste management, including training and site inspections.
  • Perform environmental system audits and inspections, ensuring adherence to permits and regulations.
  • Participate in safety training and meetings, fostering a culture of safety within the organization.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in EHS, particularly in auditing and industrial hygiene within the food or beverage sector. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, as is familiarity with regulatory standards.

Competencies:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to build collaborative relationships, work independently and within a team, and manage multiple tasks effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.

Physical Requirements:
This role may involve sitting for extended periods, walking between departments, and accessing small spaces for equipment maintenance.
