Position Overview

The YMCA of Glendale, CA is dedicated to fostering a vibrant community through health and fitness. A deep understanding of the diverse needs of fitness enthusiasts is essential, and we welcome innovative approaches to class formats.


Qualifications:

  1. Possession of relevant certifications such as Pilates, yoga, TRX, Zumba, ACE, AFAA, etc.
  2. A minimum of two years of related experience is preferred.
  3. Physical capability to actively lead fitness sessions and demonstrate related skills.
  4. Certification in CPR/AED and First Aid, along with Child Abuse Prevention training, is required within 30 days of employment.

Physical Requirements:

Must have adequate strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential job functions and oversee program activities. Ability to manage moderate to high noise levels and possess the verbal, visual, and auditory skills necessary to respond promptly in emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Consistently arrive on time, dressed in appropriate attire, and ready to fulfill job responsibilities.
  2. Get to know members' names and their individual fitness objectives during each shift.
  3. Design, organize, and deliver class content to enhance skill development effectively.
  4. Follow the substitution policy by arranging for substitutes during planned absences and notifying the Director accordingly.
  5. Ensure a tidy and organized environment by returning equipment to its designated places after use.
  6. Stay informed about any changes in schedules, staffing, or procedures that may impact members' experiences, and guide them through these changes supportively.
  7. Exemplify the YMCA's core values of caring, respect, responsibility, and citizenship, encouraging these principles among members.
