Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a detail-focused and caring Pharmacy Technician 1 to join our Inpatient Pharmacy team at the University of Washington Medical Center - Montlake. As a Pharmacy Technician 1, you will perform a variety of pharmaceutical tasks under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, including compounding medications, filling medication orders, and preparing compounded sterile products.
Responsibilities:- Prepare medications from physician orders or pharmacy-generated labels in single-dose packaging, including compounded sterile products and extemporaneously prepared doses.
- Load and refill PYXIS automated dispensing cabinets.
- Deliver medications to nursing units, clinics, and procedural areas, and return discontinued medications in a timely manner.
- Package medications into single-unit packages and perform bulk packaging of medications, including batch preparation of compounded sterile products.
- Ensure medications are in-date and complete monthly outdate checking assignments.
- Perform routine computer functions, including charge/credits and label generation.
- Obtain patient medication lists and transcribe them into medication reconciliation databases.
- Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or equivalent education/experience.
- State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification.
