Position Overview:

The Cryogenic Systems Technician plays a crucial role in the installation and maintenance of on-site nitrogen generation facilities and bulk gas systems, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain nitrogen generation equipment on-site.
  • Execute cryogenic bulk installations at various locations.
  • Conduct repairs on pressure reduction systems associated with bulk delivery mechanisms.
  • Analyze and perform general repairs on electrical systems related to nitrogen generation and cryogenic setups, including motor controls and alarm systems.
  • Install safety decals and warning signage to identify hazards and operational settings.
  • Perform piping system installations in compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct site surveys to ensure compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.
  • Implement security measures to protect installations from unauthorized access.
  • Carry out periodic preventative maintenance on nitrogen generation equipment as per the maintenance schedule.
  • Perform annual inspections of bulk installation sites to verify their operational condition.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of essential parts for typical repairs within the designated customer base.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • HVAC or refrigeration certification, or ASSE Medical Gas Credentials are advantageous.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Certified Brazer Certificate within the initial employment period.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in industrial field service, preferably in gas generation systems.
  • Prior electrical experience is beneficial.
  • Comprehensive understanding of NFPA 99 and NFPA 55 standards.
  • Knowledge of cryogenic and high-pressure gas characteristics and hazards.
  • Hands-on experience with cryogenic equipment and pressure piping, along with troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Familiarity with welding and brazing processes, particularly silver brazing.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies at any time, with arrangements for coverage when unavailable.
  • Capability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and safety documents.
  • Proficient in performing mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining information clearly to customers and colleagues.
