As a Service Lane Appraiser, you will play a critical role in executing a process that involves prospecting, appraising, and presenting offers to current vehicle owners with the goal of purchasing their vehicles for resale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interface with current used vehicle owners from multiple sources to purchase their vehicles, utilizing market data and industry trends to make informed decisions.
  • Understand and analyze market trends and changes in the geographic market to optimize vehicle purchasing strategies.
  • Provide guidance and support to dealership Sales Associates on purchasing used vehicles, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
  • Appraise used vehicles to determine their value and make recommendations for purchase.
  • Attend daily Trade Walks to identify potential vehicle opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date on federal, state, and local laws governing retail automotive sales to ensure compliance.
  • Establish and meet personal income goals, consistent with dealership standards of productivity, and develop strategies to achieve them.
  • Attend product and sales training courses to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Explain depreciation and equity values to customers, providing a clear understanding of the vehicle's worth.
  • Introduce customers to sales department personnel to sell them a new vehicle after purchasing their existing vehicle.
  • Maintain an owner follow-up system to encourage repeat and referral business, contributing to guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a prospect development system to schedule appointments for vehicle appraisals and purchases.
  • Attend sales meetings to stay informed and aligned with dealership goals.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and professional appearance.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction is a top priority, guaranteeing a positive experience for all customers.
  • Attend Sonic meetings as requested and maintain a follow-up system to ensure project completion.
  • Report to Supervisor on objectives, planned activities, reviews, and analyses.
  • Interact positively with colleagues and guests, promoting a positive influence on associate and guest morale.

Qualifications

  • High level of customer service is required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to meet company's production and quality standards.
  • Outstanding computer skills required.
  • Previous dealership, selling, or marketing experience preferred.
