Job Description

YES Prep Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing speech and language services to eligible students, under the direction of a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct and indirect services to students with speech impairments to facilitate success in the least restrictive environment.
  • Assist in the planning and provision of individual speech therapy goals, objectives, and therapeutic activities contained within the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Consistently document student performance through record keeping.
  • Compile, maintain, and file therapy records and other required documents.
  • Assist with clerical duties such as preparing materials and scheduling services.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implement classroom-based activities to improve oral and written language skills of students.
  • Support the speech-language pathologist in providing in-service trainings for special education staff and other personnel within the district.
  • Attend staff development in-services and workshops to enhance professional skills.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution.
  • Valid Texas license as a speech-language therapy assistant granted by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
  • Successful completion of 50 clock hours of field experience, as required for SLP-Assistant licensing.
  • Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools.
