Job Overview

The Pharmacy at St. Vincent's, East is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to fill the role of Rx Care Advocate. As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating the bedside discharge medication delivery program (DRxD) for eligible hospital patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Presents the DRxD program to all eligible patients for assigned units/services.
  • Pre-signs eligible patients to program by presenting service prior to discharge date.
  • Follows DRxD scripting for presenting program.
  • Maintains process for tracking patient status and follow-up.
  • For patients accepting DRxD program, ensures patient enrollment, bedside delivery of medication, and successful completion of program requirements at discharge.
  • Enrolls patient using mobile app or paper enrollment forms.
  • Transmits information to pharmacy.
  • Delivers prescriptions to patient, verifies identity, completes checkout scripting, and completes discharge process, securing patient signatures.
  • Performs standard Pharmacy Technician duties.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
  • Alabama State Certified Pharmacy Technician License.
  • In good standing with the Alabama State Pharmacy Board.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Comfortable in a hospital room setting.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • High energy and team-oriented.
  • Ability to walk/stand 8 hours per day.


Estimated Salary Range:
$45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
