As an Emergency Medical Technician, you will utilize your expertise and empathy to deliver essential prehospital emergency services. Your role will involve responding to high-demand 911 calls, ensuring the safe transport of patients to appropriate medical facilities. You will also be responsible for both urgent and routine inter-facility patient transfers.

Shift InformationFull-Time position, 1.0 FTE
Shifts typically range from 8 to 12 hours, available in Day, Night, or Swing schedules.
- $2.00/hr Ambulance Service Differential, applicable to all hours worked.
- $5.00/hr Night Differential, applicable to eligible night hours, in addition to base pay.
- $3.00/hr Weekend Differential, applicable to eligible weekend hours, in addition to base pay.
- $2.00/hr for Bachelor's or $3.00/hr for Master's Education Differential, if in an approved focus, applicable to all hours worked.
- Deliver prehospital emergency care and/or inter-facility transport for patients who are injured or ill.
- Administer medications and perform advanced life support interventions in accordance with state regulations, local protocols, and organizational policies.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation for patient interactions using the ImageTrend Elite system.
- Operate emergency vehicles safely, adhering to emergency vehicle operation guidelines.
- Assist in training emergency medical services (EMS) students to foster valuable work experiences.
- Participate in departmental meetings and educational programs to stay updated on industry advancements.
- Implement best practices to enhance response efficiency and minimize drop times.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- A valid New Mexico driver's license is mandatory, with no relevant restrictions.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a driving record that meets insurability standards.
- State of New Mexico Paramedic certification in good standing is required.
- All necessary certifications (e.g., ACLS, BLS) must be maintained.
- Completion of FEMA courses 100, 200, and 700 is required.
- Ability to perform CPR and all skills associated with paramedic licensure is essential.
- Prior EMT experience is preferred.
- Successful completion of a physical abilities assessment is required.
- Medical examiner certification/DOT certification must be obtained during onboarding and maintained.
