Position Overview

As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), you will play a crucial role in delivering immediate medical assistance and ensuring patient safety during transport. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks that are essential for effective emergency care and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Emergency Medical Care: Provide urgent medical services in line with EMT certification standards. You will administer necessary treatments and communicate patient conditions to healthcare professionals at receiving facilities.
  2. Ambulance Maintenance: Maintain the ambulance in optimal working condition, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with health regulations. This includes restocking supplies and decontaminating the vehicle post-transport.
  3. Hospital Assistance: Support hospital staff by transporting patients and assisting with basic care tasks as permitted by your certification. Conduct Basic Life Support (BLS) training sessions regularly.
  4. Patient and Staff Safety: Uphold safety protocols by administering care accurately and efficiently, utilizing proper techniques to minimize risks to both patients and yourself.
  5. Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all relevant state and federal regulations, including maintaining patient confidentiality and following organizational compliance policies.
  6. Additional Duties: Carry out other responsibilities as assigned to support the overall mission of the Shenandoah Medical Center.
