Key Responsibilities- Patient Care and Coordination
- Coordinate patient care operations within the Department, ensuring that patient needs are met and exceeded.
- Assess patient needs and develop comprehensive plans of care in collaboration with healthcare providers.
- Provide high-quality patient education and support to promote patient understanding and empowerment.
- Utilize a well-defined approach to problem-solve and make decisions within areas of accountability, ensuring effective and efficient patient care.
- Prioritize tasks and manage patient scheduling, referrals, staffing, and quality or operational issues in a changing environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care.
- Communicate effectively with other healthcare team members, patients, and families to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Perform emergency treatment as required, initiating or assisting in patient care in an effective and responsive manner.
- Triage emergency situations appropriately and involve other resources as needed.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in a timely and safe manner, following health care provider orders and nursing policy.
- Utilize proper body mechanics and transfer/lifting techniques to minimize fall risk to patients and injury to self.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
- Experience in oncology nursing or a related field.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
