The university is currently in search of a dedicated individual to join the Campus Safety and Security team as a Security Officer. This is a full-time position on the second shift (4pm-midnight).
Key Responsibilities:
include conducting established rounds, monitoring security communications, enforcing parking regulations, managing the opening and closing of buildings while overseeing their mechanical functions, assisting local police and fire departments with campus incidents, documenting security reports, and responding to service or emergency calls as necessary. Occasional light maintenance tasks (such as changing light bulbs, replacing smoke detector batteries, and snow removal) will also be part of the role. The position requires significant walking both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma, familiarity with building and grounds security protocols, a valid driver's license, and strong customer service and communication skills are essential. Previous experience in security and certifications in CPR, AED, first aid, or as a first responder are preferred. (A background check will be conducted prior to hiring).
