Job Details

Platinum Dermatology Partners is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dermatology team.

Responsibilities:
  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience.
  • Enter medical histories and prescriptions into our electronic medical record system with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist physicians during exams and procedures, providing support and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Perform extractions, injections, and other patient treatments with precision and care.
  • Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
  • Educate patients and respond to their questions in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Document all medical instructions given to patients, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Clean and organize exam rooms, prepare procedure trays, clean and autoclave instruments, and stock supplies to ensure a clean and efficient work environment.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum two years' experience in a doctor's office, with prior dermatology experience preferred.
  • Certification preferred (i.e., Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Dermatology Technician, etc.).
Requirements:
  • Quality written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and mannerisms.
  • Knowledgeable of medical dermatology terms/CPT, ICD-10.
  • Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others, patients, and coworkers alike.
  • Able to prioritize tasks, understand provider instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
Work Environment:

This position is in a well-lighted medical office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Physical Requirements:

Must possess the manual dexterity to operate office machines, including computers and calculators; stooping, bending to handle files and supplies; and mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals. Stress can be triggered by multiple staff demands and deadlines.
