Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with physicians to provide multidisciplinary care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in an outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment under the supervision of a supervising physician
- Select medications appropriately and in accordance with pharmacy formulary
- Act in the best interest of the patient by providing information to make informed decisions in their care
- Complete patient encounter forms daily with appropriate diagnosis and treatment codes
- Understand the unique needs of the patient in providing care in the HMG-HMTS care setting
- Consult/referring to the supervising physician, as needed
- Report all abnormalities to the supervising physician
- Accurately code patient visits
- Provide thorough documentation in the medical record for care provided and recommended
- Maintain productivity standards for number of patients seen in a timely manner
- Graduation from a Physician Assistant's training program and current license in good standing by the Board of Medical Examiners of the State of California
- Evidence of satisfactory performance and completion of proctoring requirements
- Recent ambulatory care experience (preferred)
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Organizational ability and knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety measures, and infection control
- Ability to follow instructions and knowledge of age of population served
- Current license in good standing to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of California
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Current and active DEA licensure
