Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to oversee the technical quality of our products at Ole Smoky Distillery, LLC. Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Systems Implementation: Develop, maintain, and control documented quality systems to ensure compliance with established quality standards and specifications.
  • Quality Compliance: Manage the implementation and maintenance of quality compliance for Ole Smoky Distillery, ensuring adherence to local, state, federal, and country requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, supervise, develop, and evaluate staff to conduct all quality control activities, leading and developing professional employees to result in growth in expertise, industry knowledge, and career opportunity.
  • Quality Data Analysis: Design and manage appropriate systems for analysis, reporting, and communication of quality data through all phases of production for the plants and suppliers.
  • Customer Complaints: Provide timely and complete responses to all customer complaints, maintaining records of complaints and initiating and managing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive issue investigations, facilitate root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventative actions to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain current awareness of TTB regulations for liquid processing, bottling & labeling, and ensure execution of audit programs for internal and external audits.
  • Quality Metrics: Drive improvements and execute Quality Metrics/KPI's at the facility, promoting quality awareness and ownership across the value chain.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years quality leadership and people management experience in food, alcohol, packaging, or consumer goods industry.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of food safety/HACCP, GMP's, Allergen Controls, Sanitary design/controls, environmental monitoring programs, pest control, basic food regulations, TTB regulations, specifications, analytical and microbiological lab methods desired, & basic liquid processing technologies.
  • Experience as a lead auditor or certified lead auditor with experience in ISO9001, ISO 22000, and GFSI standards.
  • Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and quality systems.
  • Ability to do thorough root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Strong computer skills and high comfort using technology and systems.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
