Job Summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Technologist to join our team in the Microbiology department.

This is a 7 on/7 off evening shift position that requires strong experience in laboratory testing and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various laboratory tests and procedures as assigned.
  • Oversee and evaluate the performance of testing, quality control, maintenance, and procedures for assigned area.
  • Prepare monthly quality summary reports documenting the performance of instruments, quality control, linearity, service visits, and clinical service issues.
  • Coordinate service visits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Teach, assess competency, mentor, and precept other laboratory employees and students in technical procedures and policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a biological science required.
  • Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Medical Technologist (AMT), Certified CLS (ASCP), or Certified MLS (ASCP or ASCP-International)CM, or Cytotechnologist CT (ASCP) certification.
  • Two years of pertinent experience in a high complexity laboratory in the assigned/specified area.
