Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with corporate purchasing policies and procedures to maintain a high level of inventory management.
  • Create, review, and process requisitions and replenishment orders for inventory of RV parts to meet customer demands.
  • Research and compare suppliers, goods, and services for reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency to optimize purchasing decisions.
  • Negotiate total cost and delivery with vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of parts.
  • Place purchase orders with vendors and confirm order confirmations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Proactively manage inventory and reconcile open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and prompt payment of invoices.
  • Monitor backorders and substitutions, troubleshooting cost, quality, and delivery concerns to minimize disruptions.
  • Coordinate and create vendor returns for product credit to maintain a positive relationship with suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable and vendors to resolve discrepancies related to pricing, receiving, and matching to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers and contacts within the company to ensure a stable supply chain.
  • Provide daily updates to Customer Service regarding customer backorders to ensure timely communication and resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions, purchase orders, and receipts to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Requirements
  • 3+ years' experience and knowledge in parts buying, preferably in the automotive or RV industry.
  • Strong computer skills for inventory management and data entry to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with customers and suppliers.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks or projects concurrently to meet deadlines and ensure efficiency.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license free of suspensions in the past 3 years to ensure safe and reliable transportation.
  • All applicants must be able to pass pre-employment testing, including a background check, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), and drug screen to ensure a safe and reliable work environment.
Working Conditions
  • May require extended periods of standing, walking, and bending to ensure efficient movement around the warehouse.
  • May involve lifting or moving heavy equipment or objects to ensure safe and efficient storage and retrieval of parts.
  • May involve working in tight spaces or at heights to ensure safe and efficient access to inventory.
  • May require exposure to loud noises, fumes, or chemicals to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Will require working weekends or holidays to ensure 24/7 customer service and support.
