Position Overview
The Fingerprint Processing Technician plays a crucial role in supporting our fingerprint enrollment operations. This entry-level position involves engaging in various commercial, state, and federal programs, as well as assisting in consumer sales of related products and services. You will be trained in essential processes, including both ink and electronic fingerprinting, and will become proficient in operating multiple Live Scan fingerprinting devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process fingerprint cards by accurately entering information into the system.
  • Identify and classify fingerprints by searching files or categorizing prints based on numerical values.
  • Maintain and manage state and criminal fingerprint files, conducting research for identification or verification purposes.
  • Complete fingerprint card printing and scanning as required.
  • Update and process fingerprint files, both electronically and through mail.
  • Enter and retrieve fingerprint information, transmitting messages electronically to relevant agencies.
  • May conduct fingerprinting for identification, criminal history checks, and job application purposes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications for Success
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Familiarity with fingerprinting techniques and best practices.
  • Understanding of general filing systems and procedures.
  • Ability to differentiate and compare fingerprint identifications.
  • Proficiency in operating standard office equipment.
  • Capability to maintain organized files and records.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in records management or a related field.
