Key Responsibilities- Deliver quality nursing care to assigned patients, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Record patients' medical information and vital signs, maintaining accurate and detailed reports.
- Monitor and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions, collaborating with healthcare teams to develop effective care plans.
- Conduct specified laboratory tests, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Provide patient education, addressing identified knowledge deficits and promoting health literacy.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of evidence-based practices and quality improvement projects.
- Graduate from an accredited School of Vocational Nursing.
- Current licensure to practice vocational nursing in the State of Texas, with a commitment to maintaining licensure throughout employment.
- Current JPS recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with a focus on maintaining certification throughout employment.
- ACLS certification within 3 months of hire (required in Emergency Department and Critical Care only).
- EKG test passed within 90 days of hire date and maintained throughout employment (required in Emergency Department and Critical Care only).
- Completion of Pediatric Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire and maintains credentialing throughout employment for the Emergency Department.
- Completion of unit specific competency-based orientation program within 90 days, if applicable.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification must be obtained within 6 weeks of employment (for Inpatient Women's Services only).
- Approved Education and Training in Non-Violent Crisis De-escalation must be obtained within 90 days of hire date and maintained throughout employment for the Emergency Department.
