Seeking a Dedicated LVN

We are committed to delivering exceptional service to our residents and seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Ensure that individual service plans are followed, and administer or supervise treatments prescribed by physicians.
  2. Make meaningful rounds of all residents, utilizing service plans, and make rounds with physicians, recording visits on charts.
  3. Administer all intramuscular, sub-cutaneous injections, perform all in-house testing procedures, and take and record vital signs.
  4. Document acute episodes or significant changes in resident status.
  5. Supervise aides in the performance of their duties, monitoring their work, assigning aides to residents, specifying break times, and special duties to be completed, including activities.
  6. Work with the Activity Director, DON, and Nurse Aides in carrying out the activities program.
  7. Meet with the DON as needed and participate in staff meetings to maintain staff performance at an optimum level.
  8. Receive or place calls to physicians and follow through with physician's orders.
Requirements

We are seeking a candidate with:

  • A High School diploma or GED, plus one to two years of college or vocational school.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current Texas licensure as a licensed vocational nurse.
  • The ability to use up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds continuously to move objects and/or people.
  • Bending, stooping, twisting, turning, reaching, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, climbing, kneeling, walking, and standing over 75% of the shift.
