Job Summary

CARTI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Medical Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our medical laboratory technicians and medical assistants, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all testing personnel and medical assistants to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
  • Manage daily schedules to ensure appropriate staff is assigned to support the volume of patient testing.
  • Perform, verify, and report laboratory tests in assigned areas as per policy/procedure manuals.
  • Analyze blood cells by using microscopic techniques and procedures.
  • Ensure operation of analyzers and other laboratory equipment by calibrating, completing preventive maintenance requirements, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Maintain laboratory supply inventory by checking stock, anticipating needed supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Conserves laboratory resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provides medical technology information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares reports of technological findings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
  • Maintains inter- and intradepartmental workflow by fostering a spirit of cooperation.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control and hazardous waste policies and protocols.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects the organization by keeping information confidential.
  • Adheres to quality control policies/procedures and assists in quality assurance.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree or higher plus internship in an accredited school of Medical Technology.
  • Registered as a Medical Laboratory Technician through ASCP, NCA, or AMT.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete delegated tasks.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others.
  • Ability to be flexible and do what is necessary to get the job done right in a timely manner.
Working Conditions

This position involves potential exposure to infectious diseases. Team members are offered appropriate vaccinations and safety training.
