Job Title: Lead Asset Management Specialist

At Massachusetts Institute of Technology, we are seeking a highly skilled Lead Asset Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Asset Management Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring a high-quality member service experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Secure payment on delinquent student loans, real estate, and consumer loans while minimizing losses.
  • Work with the manager to ensure the department operates efficiently by reviewing collection queues and workload for effectiveness.
  • Assist with resolving billing issues and counsel members on the importance of making payments, maintaining personal credit standards, and payment alternatives.
  • Assign accounts to collection agencies and legal firms, monitor collection activities, provide follow-up information, and monitor legal proceedings.
Requirements:
  • At least four years of experience in collections.
  • Experience with auto repossession, foreclosure proceedings, and secondary-market loss mitigation.
  • Working knowledge of financial regulations.
  • Proven analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to review and analyze financial documents.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to resolve complex member issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in finance or related field.
  • Experience with Fiserv DNA and collection systems.
