Main Responsibilities- Embody the Company's safety culture and actively support all safety initiatives.
- Support, promote, and practice the Company's core values, vision, and mission.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using diagnostic equipment, visual inspection, and other tools.
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
- Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects and verify repairs.
- Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical circuits.
- Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and equipment.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform preventative maintenance work on equipment and assets.
- Fabricate special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- DOT Medical Examiner Certificate and/or ability to obtain required.
- Certificate in Diesel Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Commercial Drivers' License (CDL) preferred.
- Automotive Air Conditioning certified preferred.
- 3 or more years of experience as a diesel/heavy equipment mechanic.
- Experience performing U.S. DOT vehicle and brake inspections and adjustments.
- Welding, cutting, and brazing experience.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
- Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Maintain and provide basic tooling required for position.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
- Regularly required to use hands to feel, handle, and manipulate objects.
- Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear).
