  • Ensures a conducive clinic atmosphere for patient care by keeping the patient areas organized and maintaining cleanliness in the work environment, including examination and treatment rooms.
  • Executes patient care tasks within the scope of the role and under direct supervision, which may encompass vital signs monitoring, recording height and weight, phlebotomy, and other necessary procedures for health assessments.
  • Aids patients and their families in navigating the clinic and managing appointments, including escorting patients to the checkout area.
  • Prepares medical records for physicians and nurse practitioners, ensuring that all laboratory, pathology, imaging, testing, and surgical reports/results, along with clinic summary reports, are printed and accessible for provider review prior to patient visits. Chart preparation must be maintained at least 5 days in advance and reviewed for completeness within 2 days of patient appointments to ensure all reports/results are included.
  • Manages and orders clinic supplies, assisting with the procurement and maintenance of supply levels as needed. This includes stocking clinic areas and proper waste disposal, as well as employing Standard Precautions to reduce the risk of exposure to infectious materials and ensuring safe disposal of needles and syringes or other items used in specimen collection.
  • Rigorously adheres to hospital protocols regarding patient identification verification before rooming patients and collecting specimens. When obtaining specimens, ensures they are accurately labeled with patient identifiers, date and time of collection, and initials.

Required Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.

Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant Program.

1-3 years of relevant experience.

Required Certifications

Certified Medical Assistant.

Current American Heart Association CPR certification or the ability to obtain CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
