Overview of the Role:

The Production Associate I will play a vital role in the manufacturing team, ensuring that operational targets are achieved in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to all organizational policies. This position involves the careful processing of vehicles to create both core and scrap products, facilitating customer access to parts, and meeting environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, setting a standard for the team.
  • Degarbage: Safely extract Freon, power steering fluid, brake fluid, batteries, and other materials as per established protocols.
  • Drain: Remove gasoline, coolant, waste oil, and other specified items in accordance with procedures.
  • Set & Pull: Position vehicles on wheel stands for customer access to parts. Clear vehicles and tidy the area for subsequent operations.
  • Field Decore: Detach motor and transmission mounts, and remove tires and designated core components as instructed.
  • Ground Decore: Extract heater cores, copper wiring, and other items as directed. Maintain the work area to minimize equipment downtime and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Table Decore: Disassemble engines and transmissions, extract small cores, and sort materials as required.
  • Tire Dismantling: Operate tire machinery to separate tires from wheels, removing weights and stems, and preparing rims for shipping.
  • Janitorial Duties: Collect and process dismantled core materials, clear debris, and identify safety hazards in the customer area.
  • Miscellaneous: Provide courteous assistance to customers, maintain logs for regulatory compliance, and support the upkeep of mechanical equipment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols.
  • Capability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions, including safety messages and labels.
  • Completion of safety, environmental, and conduct training is necessary.
  • Flexibility to work various hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to perform effectively in diverse weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Previous experience in automotive repair or dismantling is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with automotive parts and customer service is advantageous.
  • Experience with tools and machinery is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular standing, walking, bending, and stretching to fulfill customer service and production responsibilities.
  • Manual dexterity to handle tools and the capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness in the facility through various cleaning tasks.
  • Adequate vision to perform job functions safely.
  • Capability to remain on feet for the duration of the assigned shift.

Working Conditions:

  • Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to minimal chemical hazards.
