Tulane University Staff seeks a highly skilled Content Strategist to manage all programs and activities in the Department of Surgery. This role requires producing content for various outlets, including internal newsletters, news articles, development campaigns, letters, web pages, social media, and more. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Chair, Executive Director, faculty, staff, and affiliates to ensure all communications align with university branding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy to engage internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyze the performance of the department's marketing and communication strategy, identifying areas for improvement and new opportunities

The successful Content Strategist will possess excellent technical writing skills, with experience translating complex scientific and medical topics into engaging stories. They will also have knowledge of digital and social media platforms, as well as proficiency in preparing presentations and communicating effectively across organization hierarchies.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and three years of experience in journalism, communications, or a related field
  • High School Diploma/Equivalent and 8 years' experience in marketing, communications, or a closely related field

Prior experience writing for scientific publications, interviewing researchers and physician scientists, and working at a higher education institution is highly desirable.

Compensation

$63,000 - $83,000 per year, depending on experience
