We are seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Systems Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, FL. As a key member of our Environmental Control Systems (ECS) team, you will be responsible for designing and developing ECS subsystems for commercial and military aircraft applications.
Key Responsibilities- Perform responsible engineer activities, including trade studies, layouts, architecture definition, system test & verification, and troubleshooting.
- Participate in subcontractor management and act as the technical point of contact with suppliers for hardware development, qualification, and procurement.
- Perform system-related analysis, such as performance simulation, in support of ECS subsystem development.
- System level test planning, execution support, verification, data processing, and troubleshooting.
- System level evaluations to verify requirements and ensure airworthiness criteria are met.
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 2 years of engineering experience (Responsible Engineer) OR Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 5 years of engineering experience (Principal Engineer) OR Master's degree AND 3 years of engineering experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- Professional experience related to the development and integration of ECS systems in either commercial or military aircraft applications.
- Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with focus on thermodynamic, fluid mechanic, and/or heat transfer disciplines.
- Experience with aircraft subsystem development, including requirements definition, specification development, component analysis, procurement, source selection, integration, and test and verification for advanced aircraft.
- Experience performing thermodynamic, fluid mechanic, and/or heat transfer analysis related to military/commercial aircraft and subsystems.
- Experience modeling fluid systems utilizing Amesim, MATLAB/Simulink, Thermal Desktop, Flomaster, and/or STAR-CCM+ software.
- Experience with the military airworthiness certification process using MIL-HDBK-516.
- Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures.
- Experience in supporting pursuits and proposals, including generating, reviewing, and approving technical proposals and BOEs.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership related to integrated product teams, including supplier and customer (internal and external) relations.

Salary Range: $75,300 - $112,900
Salary Range 2: $92,600 - $139,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
