Job Summary
The Clinical Supervisor/Charge Nurse is a vital member of our interdisciplinary team at Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Arlington. This role requires a skilled and enthusiastic individual to oversee the provision of safe and effective patient care, ensuring continuity of care and reporting pertinent information to management and administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Assure the provision of safe and effective patient care after hours, on weekends, and on holidays or when the Chief Nursing Officer is not in the building.
- Assess all departments to ensure continuity of care and report pertinent information to management and administration.
- Effectively communicate unusual occurrences or complaints for follow-up and intervene immediately when needed.
- Ensure the nursing department staff performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
- Ensure occurrence of appropriate documentation, including documentation of medical necessity, by staff in medical records; monitor completion and revisions to the Interdisciplinary Care Plan.
- Assist in reviewing and evaluating risk and quality indicators, patient satisfaction results, and outcomes to continually improve performance and outcomes; communicate this information to the nursing department.
- Assure education and training is provided to nursing staff on Quality Indicators (QIs); assure timely and accurate QI assessments and scoring are performed.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program with current licensure in the state.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support required.
- Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in rehabilitative or acute care setting and/or demonstrates leadership ability.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, evaluate, and direct activities of clinical personnel; effective oral and written communication skills, in English with additional languages preferred; proficiency in basic computer skills required.
- Demonstrates problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
