Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transmission Line Project Engineer to join our team at Stantec. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for planning, analyzing, and designing transmission line projects with utilities and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and design transmission line projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Lead project teams in the development of project plans, specifications, and design packages.
  • Coordinate with engineers, technical staff, and stakeholders to ensure project needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure project success.
  • Conduct site visits and construction observation duties, responding to RFIs and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering studies, and design drawings, as well as present technical information to clients and stakeholders.
  • Perform detailed studies, review plans, transmission line modeling, and design tasks associated with utilities or other type of projects.
  • Support project managers and group managers in preparing proposal man-hour estimates and technical scopes to support the sales effort.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in transmission line design and construction experience is required (69kV to 765kV).
  • Utility experience and/or experience in underground transmission line are a plus.
  • Existing Pennsylvania or Florida professional engineer registration (P.E.) or ability to obtain within six months of starting work is preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to travel 20% to industrial worksites to support project work.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
