Role Summary:
The Surgical Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective execution of surgical operations. This position primarily involves assisting surgeons and registered nurses during surgical procedures.
Reporting Structure:
Reports directly to the Manager of Surgical Services.
Employment Classification:
Non-exempt position.
Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Graduation from an accredited program in the relevant field is preferred.
Essential Skills:
Demonstrated critical thinking abilities, sound judgment, and capacity to operate with minimal oversight. Must thrive in high-pressure environments and respond appropriately to challenges.
Certification Requirements:
Surgical Tech certification is mandatory within six months of employment.
An Associate's Degree along with two years of relevant experience is required if certification is not obtained upon hiring.
Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification must be achieved within 30 days of employment.
