Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Vertex Aerospace LLC. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance and servicing of our support equipment, including vehicles, man lifts, aircraft stands, and other equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and drive all types of equipment, including motorized and non-motorized vehicles.
  • Conduct regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on ground support equipment.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
  • Overhaul and rebuild engines, transmissions, and other major components to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, parts used, and hours spent on each task.
  • Coordinate with program teams to effectively prioritize and complete repair jobs in a timely manner to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop, ensuring all tools, equipment, and parts are properly stored and readily accessible.
Requirements
  • At least five (5) years of hands-on experience as a Ground Support Equipment Mechanic, preferably in the aviation industry.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances and certifications as required by onsite programs.
  • Proficient computer skills in using maintenance management systems and software for record-keeping and inventory management.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Completion of a formal training program in automotive or heavy equipment mechanics, or equivalent work experience.
