Calibration Launch Specialist

This position requires strong planning and organizational skills to support the calibration engineers and teams in managing and aiding in the release and launch of calibrations. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and self-motivation to manage fleet calibration issues and concerns, driving them to resolution.
Key Responsibilities- Lead weekly meetings to communicate progress and ensure alignment among team members.
- Monitor and analyze automotive powertrain data to identify any issues and develop effective solutions.
- Document and track issues to ensure timely resolution and continuous improvement.
- Lead and manage all issues through to resolution, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Display strong planning and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Provide clear, effective, and confident communication at all levels, both written and verbal.
- Prepare technical reports, papers, and presentations to share knowledge and expertise with stakeholders.
- Work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless collaboration and achieve common goals.
- Maintain a specialist working knowledge of new technologies as appropriate to the role and adapt to changing requirements.
- Observe all safety rules and regulations, acting safely and responsibly for the safety of others in the work area.
- Maintain awareness of and meet the requirements of the Company Quality System, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field, such as engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Professional qualifications as appropriate to the role and industry.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in powertrain calibration development, with a strong understanding of internal combustion engines and testing techniques.
- Detailed knowledge of engine calibration and calibration tools, including Engine Management Systems (EMS) principles and calibration processes.
- Understanding of current powertrain control system architectures and experience working with On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) testing and calibration.
- Knowledge of legislative requirements for OBD, exhaust, and evaporative emissions, as well as the ability to work well under pressure and to strict time constraints.
- Self-motivated with the drive to complete tasks in a timely manner with appropriate attention to detail, and flexibility with working hours and willingness to travel to customer sites for both long and short durations.
- Working knowledge of script writing capabilities for data reduction and analysis, as well as Matlab/Simulink analysis and simulation packages.
