Are you seeking a fulfilling career that contributes to the well-being of service members?The Performance and Readiness Health Solutions Business Unit is in search of a dedicated Military Training Advisor to support the Naval Center for Combat & Operational Stress Control (NCCOSC) program. This role is crucial in developing educational content and managing training programs aimed at enhancing resilience, mental toughness, and psychological readiness among military personnel.
What does this role entail?The Military Training Advisor will engage in full-time activities directly supporting NCCOSC. Responsibilities will include working at various training locations and may involve travel up to 50% of the time. The position is designed to foster collaboration with Department of Defense (DoD) entities, focusing on the implementation of resilience and toughness initiatives.
The advisor will collaborate with a team of professionals committed to fostering a positive and effective training environment. Key interactions will include working with various Navy agencies to develop and facilitate necessary training resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter expert in Resilience Programs and Combat and Operational Stress Control (COSC).
- Oversee training delivery and course management.
- Engage directly with military units to implement resilience and toughness programs.
- Conduct individual and group training sessions.
- Collect and analyze post-training data to support program evaluations.
- Develop and maintain training materials and curricula.
- Participate in public speaking engagements to promote resilience initiatives.
- Create course content and training resources as needed.
- Support resilience project development and management.
- Independently determine methods and procedures for new assignments.
- Stay informed on literature related to resilience and COSC missions.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
Required Education/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Prior military experience with demonstrated leadership skills; Navy experience is preferred.
- Experience in facilitating military training courses.
- Completion of Basic Instructor Training (BIT), Journeyman Instructor Training (JIT), or Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC) is preferred.
- Familiarity with combat and operational stress control concepts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to foster positive relationships with Navy and Marine Corps personnel.
- Willingness to travel internationally to support training requirements.
- Capability to obtain a Secret security clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must pass a government background investigation.
- This position is subject to drug testing regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in health sciences or administration.
- At least eight years of Navy service is preferred.
- Master Training Specialist (MTS) certification with three years of training experience.
- Experience in Navy Operational Stress Control and psychological health is preferred.
- Ability to interact effectively with senior Navy leaders and understand Navy customs and operational units.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Prior relevant experience is a plus.
