Job Function:
01. Engages in the execution of radiologic examinations, adhering to all departmental standards for radiologic technologists. (Professionalism)

Oversees the activities of radiographers, students, and support staff within the designated area, ensuring compliance with departmental protocols, procedures, and quality standards.

Provides training in radiographic techniques and procedures, particularly in Pediatric and Fluoroscopy, to residents, technologists, and radiographic students, while upholding patient confidentiality and dignity.

03. Responsible for the upkeep of all radiologic equipment and accessories.

The lead technologist is expected to instruct and demonstrate the correct operational procedures for all departmental equipment to technologists, residents, and students.

Must be proficient in all digital imaging equipment and report any malfunctions to the appropriate supervisors or clinical engineering. (Professionalism)
04. Evaluates the necessity for updates to examination and safety protocols to align with the highest industry standards. Ensures that sufficient supplies are available to meet current and anticipated workloads. (Excellence)
05. Communicates effectively with all departmental personnel, medical staff, and other divisions to foster teamwork. Ensures prompt coordination of all emergency and unscheduled procedure requests. (Respect)

Fluoroscopy and Pediatrics:
Exhibits proficiency in the setup and protocol for all relevant procedures. Maintains a daily log documenting essential information regarding all examinations conducted in the area. Keeps a videotape file for easy access by physicians. Monitors the use of video equipment and maintains a tape log. Reviews and updates departmental protocols annually or as needed.
07. Proficient in RIS/IC and PACS systems. Capable of merging patient cases and resolving exceptions in RIS/IC.

Can instruct technologists on proper RIS/PACS procedures, including the necessary steps to complete and verify examinations.

08. Demonstrates a responsible attitude towards attendance and punctuality. Always provides prior notification for absences or delays.

Consistently shows reliability and strives to report to work on time at the beginning of the assigned shift, even in adverse weather conditions.

Attendance should not exceed 4-5 instances of sick leave per year, maintaining a 98 percent attendance rate. Takes proactive measures to prevent recurring absences. (Involvement)
09. Acts as a preceptor by assessing learning needs.

Implements structured orientation plans with detailed measuring systems for essential competency components, providing effective feedback.

Objectively evaluates the performance of orientees. Demonstrates strong modality-specific technical skills, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills in a clinical environment. Provides weekly progress updates to new graduates and managers/coordinators throughout the orientation process. Conducts daily evaluations and a follow-up session at the week's end using an evaluation sheet. Participates in clinical assessments. (Excellence)

Engages extensively with organizational systems related to supply ordering, electronic staff scheduling, HR training, employee safety practices, safe patient handling, Joint Commission readiness, and other assigned responsibilities.


Required Qualifications:
1. Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
2.

CPR certification and ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) (R), (VI), or (CV) certification required within three months of employment.


3. Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
2. Three (3) years of clinical experience.
3. One (1) year of clinical experience in a leadership capacity.
