Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to perform general and/or vascular procedures/studies under the direction of the Radiologist. The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating results of diagnostic examinations to the interpreting physician, operating ultrasound equipment, and accurately differentiating between normal and pathologic findings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general and/or vascular procedures/studies under the direction of the Radiologist
  • Communicate results of diagnostic examinations to the interpreting physician
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and/or cardiac procedures/studies
  • Accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings
  • Review patient's medical record to obtain necessary clinical information
  • Position patient and select proper transducer and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures
  • Adjust factors to attain the appropriate images
  • Ensure safety, mental, and physical comfort of patient
  • Maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies
  • Enter patient and study information into the radiology information system
  • Document billing codes of procedures performed
Requirements:
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Vascular Sonography (VS) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography
  • Competency in all general and/or vascular sonographic procedures routinely performed in the hiring department
  • Ability to use independent judgment to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients and caregivers using excellent interpersonal and communication skills
