We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist II to join our team at El Camino Health. As a Surgical Technologist II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective conduct of surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with clinical nurses to plan, provide, and evaluate direct nursing care for surgical patients.
- Work at the direction of, or subject to supervision of a physician and surgeon, or registered nurse circulator to facilitate safe and effective invasive surgical procedures.
- Ensure the operating room environment is safe, equipment functions properly, and operative procedures are conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.
- Foster and maintain working relationships with co-workers and physicians.
- Communicate effectively in English and perform complex reading, writing, spelling, and mathematics.
- Prioritize and organize independently and function well under stressful situations.
- Demonstrate disinfection and sterilization techniques and maintain aseptic technique.
- Understand and work within the legal limits of the position.
- Successful completion of an accredited course for surgical technologists or military equivalent.
- Two (2) years' experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care hospital of similar size.
- Current BLS certification (ACLS, PALS, NRP as per unit standard).
This position requires standing the majority of the shift with the ability to lift up to 35 lbs. frequently. Work involves sitting, kneeling, climbing, and squatting.
