Job Description

Job Title: Benefits Account Executive

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Benefits Account Executive to join our team at NFP. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with clients, negotiating terms and conditions with carriers, and providing expert advice on health and welfare benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate terms, conditions, coverage limits, and pricing with carriers and wholesalers.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with clients, acting as a subject matter expert on health and welfare benefits and vendor/carrier products and services.
  • Maintain a project plan to ensure client deliverables are provided on time, delegating work to junior team members as needed.
  • Use online carrier tools to develop quotations, prepare pre-renewal information, and update client proposal tables.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, companies, and clients, keeping them informed of industry trends and regulatory issues.
  • Anticipate client needs and identify strategies to solve them, reviewing request for proposals and insurance plan analyses, negotiating with carriers, and recommending renewal actions.
  • Oversee implementations of new business, understanding and articulating alternative funding strategies.
  • Work with the director to develop and execute client strategy plans and defined deliverables.
  • Oversee open enrollment processes for clients, reviewing employee presentations and communication materials, and conducting annual client compliance audits.
  • Keep clients informed of industry trends and regulatory issues, explaining legislative guidelines, including COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, Section 125, and Health Care Reform.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of benefits administration, health care reform, industry trends, carrier products, and services.
  • Ability to work independently and anticipate client and team needs.
  • Effective time management and decision-making skills.
  • Diligent follow-up skills.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Commanding presentation and public speaking abilities.
