Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and implement plans for treatment.
- Perform vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures, documenting findings in the medical record.
- Collect and assist providers in collecting specimens, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Perform daily controls and calibration of laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Assist physicians and nurses with special procedures and examinations, following established protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment, stocking examination rooms and cupboards, and ensuring par levels of supplies.
- Participate in pre-visit chart preparation, ensuring required lab results and documentation are available for practitioner review.
- Perform various clerical functions, including filing, processing insurance forms, and preparing financial records.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a Medical Assisting program at an accredited school, or 1-3 years of medical assistant experience, or 1-3 years of Emergency Medical Technician experience with current NYS DOH EMT certification, or 1-3 years of CNA experience with valid Current Nursing Assistant Certification in New York State.
