ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital Pasadena is on the lookout for a Senior Veterinary Surgical Technician to enhance our expanding Surgery team. As a forward-thinking ER/Specialty hospital, we are experiencing significant growth and are eager to welcome new professionals who share our commitment to delivering exceptional care to our patients in a modern facility.
The primary objective of this position is to organize, facilitate, and guarantee that comprehensive training is provided to technical staff, ensuring our patients receive the utmost standard of care.
This role will also collaborate closely with hospital management to conduct performance evaluations, coaching discussions, and achieve departmental performance goals.
Compensation:
$30 to $45/hr + shift differentials - rate determined based on experience and skills assessment. *Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.

- Support existing training objectives and enhance additional technical training materials as needed.
Supervise the daily operations of the surgery technician department and provide assistance to ensure hospital efficiency. Offer continuous feedback and strive to enhance the performance and work experience of the team. Foster an inspiring team environment with open communication.
Work proactively and collaboratively with shift leads, Department Leads, PM, and MD to ensure effective teamwork across all groups. Prioritize client experience and communication, coaching team members accordingly. Serve as the first point of contact for the Doctor and CCR team to address client complaints arising from the department.
- Review any medical issues that arise within the department and ensure satisfactory resolution through direct communication in partnership with PM.
- Collaborate with management to assist with interviews, skill assessments, and onboarding of potential new technical team members.
- Schedule technical staff to optimize coverage and minimize overtime while considering case load needs, including managing technical responsibilities for patients as required and approving time-off requests.
- Provide additional administrative support and adjust schedules as necessary for the benefit of the department.
- Work in conjunction with other department leads to ensure compliance with controlled substance use policies, conduct regular audits, and resolve inventory discrepancies routinely.
Ideal candidates will possess:
2+ years of prior experience as a Lead Veterinary Technician, preferably in Surgery or ER/Specialty settings.
RVT license preferred.
Strong leadership capabilities and a commitment to teamwork.
Dedication to delivering the highest level of patient care.
An Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.About our team:
