Job Title: Advanced Metering Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Metering Project Engineer to join our team at The Building People, LLC. As a key member of our connected infrastructure division, you will be responsible for conducting site visits and assessments at client facilities to better understand energy infrastructure and energy loads.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site visits and assessments at client facilities to identify and classify various utility meter types, including electric, gas, water, or steam.
  • Participate in initial planning, on-site visit logistics, and post-survey closeout reporting functions with project team members.
  • Travel to multiple project sites within a defined region, maintaining communication and relationships with site stakeholders.
  • Apply subject matter knowledge of building systems to review facility plans and drawings, asset inventories, and technical specifications to determine the operating status of existing energy meters.
  • Provide recommendations for meter repairs and replacements, as well as identify suitable locations for the installation of new meters or submeters per client requests or project team recommendations.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in related fields, including building design and trade disciplines, conducting site visits and assessments, and assessing conditions of energy infrastructure.
  • Experience with collaborating with customers, trade contractors, building inspectors, and building service providers.
  • Ability to obtain a basic civilian security clearance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as problem-solving and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with conducting building energy audits or facility condition assessments.
  • Knowledge of environmental, sustainability, and energy efficiency regulations, executive orders, and consensus standards.
  • Experience working with diverse project types and technologies.
  • Ability to organize, schedule, and facilitate technical meetings and working groups.
