Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at MelroseWakefield Hospital. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Control and monitor patient flow to maximize efficient use of providers and exam rooms.
- Prepare medical records for patient visits, confirming accuracy with patient identifiers, and entering chief complaint and social history.
- Exercise a high degree of customer service in all interactions with patients, internal and external customers.
- Assist providers, patients, and patient families with admitting patients into the hospital.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for provider visits.
- Ensure patient and personal safety, determining fall risk and implementing appropriate measures.
- Perform and record vital signs, review medication lists with patients, and collect specimens as needed.
- Participate in unit-specific quality improvement projects, such as hand washing audits and time-outs.
- Provide administrative support, including coordinating interpreter services, answering phone calls, and taking accurate messages.
- Completed MA education from an accredited program or graduated within 36 months prior to the program becoming accredited.
- Medical Assistant National Certification Attestation issued by a governing body (AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA).
- Basic Life Support Certification.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of medical office experience.
- Phlebotomy Certification.
- Bi-Lingual.
- Experience with electronic patient record systems.
